Vocab Express, the online learning application has been commended in the Technological Innovation of the Year category for Teach Secondary Magazine’s inaugural Technology and Innovation Awards, in association with LEGO® Education.
The accolade is based on Vocab Express’ Assignment module which allows teachers to set and monitor students’ homework outside of the classroom by viewing a breakdown of key information including the percentage of work completed, total time taken, total number of questions answered, and total number of incorrect answers.
Specifically focused on technology and innovation in the classroom, the brand new awards recognise products and resources as well as teachers, authors and bloggers.
Commenting on the announcement, Vocab Express’ managing director, Justin Sycamore says, “Being commended in such a competitive category is high praise indeed and we are proud that this innovation in vocabulary learning has been recognised. We thank all of the teachers – and students – who have provided valuable feedback and insight to classroom issues over the years and look forward to entering again next year and hopefully doing even better!”
“It was important for us to give people the chance to nominate inspiring individuals as well as great technical developments,” says Teach Secondary editor, Helen Mulley. “Brilliant innovations are only truly effective in the hands of outstanding teachers – and we need both if we're going to ensure students are getting the education they need and deserve for the 21st century.”
