Palabra por Palabra: Word by Word

Vocab Express, the modern foreign languages (MFL) vocab learning platform, announces the availability of Hodder Education’s “Palabra por Palabra” Advanced Spanish Vocabulary within its online vocabulary library.

Palabra por Palabra, the hugely popular vocabulary book for advanced learners of Spanish language and culture from Hodder Education, is the most recent addition to the Vocab Express AS/A2 library, joining Mot à Mot for French and Wort für Wort for German.

Like all the learning resources from Vocab Express, Palabra por Palabra has been laid out in a simple online format which enables students to see at a glance their progress as they learn vocabulary. Vocab Express includes vocab resources from a wide range of leading publishers and awarding bodies including Hodder Education, Pearson, AQA, CIE, Edexcel, OCR and WJEC for Key Stages 2 through to 5.

Vocab Express encourages students to spend some time looking at and listening to the vocab before attempting a test. Once they start the test, there is no penalty for getting a word wrong; it can be re done as many times as necessary but they must get all the answers right in a “clear run” before the section is marked as complete.

Jim Belben, editorial director, Hodder Education explains; “Hodder Education is delighted to be working with Vocab Express to develop this new method of learning, revising and testing vocabulary. Vocab Express is practical and motivating and an excellent way to increase vocabulary and to increase students' confidence in using it.”

Justin Sycamore, managing director, Vocab Express comments; “The layout of Palabra por Palabra on Vocab Express is very clear and intuitive to navigate, with AS vocab clearly separated from A2 vocab. The system has been designed to inspire students to want to learn Spanish. As the resource is hosted online the vocabulary tests can be completed at home or school, ensuring teachers can set homework and monitor the students’ progress.
